„So you really wanna go on like this conversation had never happened?" Sebastian had asked her skeptically.

„It would just things complicate too much otherwise, wouldn't it?" she replied, her face being a mask again.

And in this moment Sebastian just had wanted to wrap his arms around her, telling her there was no need to torture herself like this. But then he had realized that he was just the same. Torturing himself with dreaming about her every night when he wasn't too drunk or too tired to dream. It even didn't help much to tell himself Hawke was only playing with him, cause a small corner in his mind was persuaded now that she didn't. And that was why he wouldn't be able to resist her forever. Not anymore. She had showed him her real face for the blink of an eye, for one true moment they'd shared together, and it showed him that he would accommodate to her when she continued to flirt with him. And then? What would be then? Would she leave him, just like he had done with so many woman in his past? And wouldn't that only torturing him even more?

„You asked me about my opinion, Choir Boy?" Isabela asked skeptically, „you should know better, don't you?"

She crossed her legs, looking at him with a asking grin on her lips, „Besides that, don't you think you should talk about with Hawke instead of me?"

„Maker, its not that I haven't try to talk with her," Sebastian replied, „also, you are a woman, right? Maybe you could help me understand her then."

Sebastian couldn't deny that he felt uncomfortable with asking Isabela for help. But he'd had no idea who he could've asked instead. Normally he could speak with the Grand Cleric about nearly anything that was perstering him, but coming up with that topic would for sure only lead him into more trouble. So 'personal problems' had been all he had been able to hell her as an excuse for the passed days. And the companions? Aveline would -  from what he knew about her - only would've told him to keep an eye on carrying out his duties instead of drinking with Varric. And Merrill... Merrill was a girl too, but besides that totally innocent and unknowing. Fenris for sure would just say nothing about it, as this was nothing of his business, and Anders... well, he simply didn't trust Anders. Varric finally had a lot of experience with woman – if he could trust at least half of his stories would be true -  but he didn't believe the dwarf would keep something concerning Hawke a secret towards her – well, it was not that he expected Isabela to do so much more. But unlike Varric, the pirate had been here this morning, informing him that Hawke, Varric, Fenris and Aveline had left for a mission very early this morning.

Isabela chuckled silently. It looked like the little Chantry boy had a serious crush on Hawke. Which could be the reason why they both had acted so awkward lately. Maybe that was more than playing cat and mous between them – and it would be for sure fun for her to find out.

„Listen, Chantry boy, I'll tell you something now – and not even the Maker could help you if you're going to tell Hawke one single word," she smiled, but Sebastian knew she would make good on her threats is she had to – and she would even be enjoying it.

„Really, I can't understand why you hesitate when a woman like Hawke is interested in you," Isabela continued, „And she must be interested since she isn't really flirting with other guys anymore. But I won't counting on this lasting forever. So make up your mind quickly."

After that conversation Sebastian was even more confused, more uncertain about what he wanted – besides the undeniable fact that he wanted her. And wanting her would lead him into leaving the Chantry – there just could be no compromise here, not if it really was something serious. He sighed and tried to concentrate on his books. But reading wasn't  the best way to keep him away from thinking of her. Maybe he shouldn't have allow her go on on like this conversation had never happened. Maybe they're both trying to avoid a real desicion. Maybe he should just go and talk with her when she was back. He wished that would be right now. But since it wasn't, all he could do was waiting.

„I think that's the last one," Varric said, looking down at the dead raiders among them and putting Bianca back on his back..

„I think you're right," Hawke responded, „its over, Lieutenant Harley."

Harley nodded, looking at the mess around them, „I have to thank you. It could be us instead of them if you wouldn't have helped us, he foot kicked against one of the corpses, „Will take a bit time to clean up here. But thats not your business, Serah Hawke. You've done enough. You should go and talk with Lieutenant Jalen about your reward. "

„Seems I'll have to take a bath again," Hawke grumbled while she and the companions left the Wounded Coast, „damn bloodmage." She sniffed at the fabric of her robes with a crooked grin.

„And then?" Varric asked, „Will you go and visit a specific brother of the Chantry?"

„What you mean?" Hawke looked down at him, catching a sparkle of furtiveness in the dwarf's eyes.

„Really Hawke, did you believe we didn't see it? You and Choir Boy dance around each other like two nugs in rutting season – and I don't know whom is worse – he with drinking the brain out of himself, or you with pretending nothing would happen."

„And its pretty irritating," Fenris added from behind.

Hawke only starred at him, unable to respond something to that. She caught Aveline's look laying on her with a mis of amusement and disapproval.

She bite her lip, looking down at her feet like she would need to concentrate on the way in front of her. Was it really that obviously already? Had she really let her guard down so far that the others were able to see what was going on inside her?

Face it already, Lanya Hawke. This can't be undone anymore

The more interesting question was, how will it go on now?

Hawke totally didn't expected someone knocking on her door in the middle of the night. Not that she shouldn't be sleeping herself after the long walk back from the Wounded Coast and then up and down half Kirkwall. But her mind has kept her from falling asleep, so she had given it up.

She opened the door only a little, hiding her staff behind her back, expecting to find a drunken stranger standing there and searching for the right house. Or a gawky thief trying to rob her this way. And turned breathless for a moment when she saw who the visitor really was.

„Sebastian?"

„Hawke... I know, its late. But, may the Maker forgive me, I needed to see you."
